Diferença entre Will e Going to

Tanto will quanto going to servem para falar do futuro em inglês mas o uso deles é um pouco diferente. Vou explicar de forma clara com exemplos traduzidos:


📌 1. WILL

👉 Usado para decisões no momento da fala, promessas, ofertas ou previsões sem evidências claras.

  • Decisão no momento
    – I’m thirsty. I will drink some water.
    – Estou com sede. Vou beber um pouco de água.

  • Promessa/Oferta
    – Don’t worry, I will help you.
    – Não se preocupe, eu vou te ajudar.

  • Previsão (opinião)
    – I think it will rain tomorrow.
    – Eu acho que vai chover amanhã.


📌 2. GOING TO

👉 Usado para planos já decididos antes do momento da fala e previsões baseadas em evidências.

  • Plano já decidido
    – I’m going to visit my parents next weekend.
    – Eu vou visitar meus pais no próximo fim de semana.

  • Previsão com evidência
    – Look at those clouds! It’s going to rain.
    – Olhe aquelas nuvens! Vai chover.


📌 Resumindo:

  • WILL → decisão espontânea, promessa, opinião sobre o futuro.

  • GOING TO → plano já pensado antes, previsão baseada em sinais.
